Anne of Green Gables is the quintessential book from here in The Maritimes. I've experienced the story all my life as TV shows, and when I visited Prince Edward Island as a kid I marveled at the related sites there.

Tonight I started to read the book for the first time. I was struck by the early line, "This Island is the bloomiest place. I just love it here already, and I am so glad I’m going to live here."

After I finish the novel, I have a couple comics adaptations of it that I want to read.
