Escape Pod this week features Esther Alter's "Magical Girl Antifa War Machine", and it's my favourite short speculative fiction I've read or listened to this year. It's messy, brutal, unflinching, and beautiful. There are warranted content warnings for this story, but if you can experience it, I think it's rewarding. The four narrators do great work, and it was especially nice to hear Escape Pod founder Serah Eley narrate again.
