I've played Pokémon Go nearly daily for 9 years. It was so exciting to have an augmented reality game from the Ingress developers that plugged into my childhood love of the Pokémon franchise.

I think the game had some significant stumbles, such as never making raids fun, and rolling back the accessibility of remote raids, but I enjoyed much of the time I played during those years.

I'm finally ready to step away from the game as a daily habit.

    I think locking so much behind the unfun raids has bogged down my enjoyment of the game and the new ownership of the developers doesn't seem ready to correct for that.

    I'll probably play again in bursts if there are connections to mainline Pokémon games, or if they shift away from raids eventually, but Pikmin Bloom will be my only daily mobile game going forward.
