Pintô Art Museum
Yesterday we traveled to Antipolo to visit the Pintô Art Museum. The museum grounds are beautiful on their own and the art pieces presented in the various galleries are stunning. The collection of contemporary Filipinx art is diverse and affecting; there are shocking, tender, heartbreaking and inspiring pieces throughout the museum.

National Museums
Thursday we visited some of the national museums in Manila. We visited the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Museum of Anthropology and the National Museum of Natural History in a day, but there was enough in each to fill a full day.

The Wholesome Table
Today we met up with some of Tonet's friends in Makati and went for lunch at The Wholesome Table. The atmosphere was excellent, and I was thrilled to see some exciting vegan items on the menu. Another Run
It was great to get out for a run through Marikina Heights again today. There's nothing quite like running through an unfamiliar place; being alert and wide eyed for new sights is such a great feeling.

Christmas Day
I spent the day with Tonet's family during their Christmas Day family reunion. It was starkly different from the quiet Christmases I've usually experienced; there was a lot more loud music, dancing and throwing of money on the floor.
During our walk home the decorations were beautiful and the air warm. The quiet, peaceful walk was a nice end to the day.

Pokémon Adventures 01
It's a very rainy day here, so I gave in to my very strong Pokémon nostalgia and read the first volume of the Pokémon Adventures manga. The comics are one of the blindspots in my knowledge of the franchise, so it was fun to experience something familiar but new to me.

The Philippines are getting the Pokémon the Series: XY anime this month, and 7-Eleven stores have a promotion with metal Pokémon straws. When I finished running and wanted some Gatorade, I stopped in to get one. They're good quality straws, and are in blind bags. I lucked out and got a Pikachu. It'll live in my bag as my go to reusable straw.

Walking Marikina Heights
Today was the first day since arriving in the Philippines that I've been able to go out for a walk and run without some errand or objective, so I relished the chance to go exploring the streets in Marikina Heights.
