There Is No Year
Algiers' There Is No Year is a monumental album. It holds so much emotional resonance, complexity and dread. The mix of musical influences, inclusive of soul, post-punk, gospel and more, forms something greater than the sum of its parts. It's a dense, churning series of songs and I've been listening to it whenever I know I have a block of time to dedicate to it, as it deserves.

I thought I couldn't have been more excited for a new Algiers album arriving next Friday, but the fantastic new single "We Can't Be Found" is, after a few listens, my favourite song they've released.

It's always a thrill to get a new song from Algiers. The new single "Void" is fantastic and makes the promise of the new album There Is No Year in early 2020 even more enticing.

Algiers is a directly political band that blends punk, soul, industrial and social justice in a heady blend. I'm always thrilled to hear new tracks from them, and "Disposession" is one of the best songs I've heard all year.
