  • In 2025 I set a gentler goal for myself to read 50 books in the year. I passed that with 60 books, averaging 5/month.

I track my reading at BookWyrm, a bright part of the fediverse.

    I'm at @apollo@bookwyrm.social .

This year I set a goal to read 52 books so I can keep up a relaxed relationship with books. I'd love to read many more books, but to balance with all my interests, obligations, and ambitions it's a good fit.

  • In 2024 I set a goal to read 48 books but passed that by a lot, finishing with 110 read.

I track all my reading at BookWyrm (@apollo@bookwyrm.social), and had a great time making reading a priority last year.

This year I'll scale back my reading to prioritize play and creation.

  • I haven't used Goodreads since 2018, but I like the idea of tracking my reads on the fediverse. So I set up an account with @bookwyrm and I'll be posting my reads at @apollo@bookwyrm.social.

  • We tried to keep gifts minimal, but Celestine was excited to find Robert Munsch books left by Santa in her stocking. I loved these books when I was a kid, so I'm looking forward to reading Murmel, Murmel, Murmel with her.

  • I was fortunate to grow up in a household with countless speculative fiction around. My father had many novels around, and I'd eventually read everything by some authors like Tolkien and Terry Brooks, and read extensively from others like Frank Herbert and Ursula K. Le Guin. Alan Burt Akers' Dray Prescot books (Transit to Scorpio, etc.) always intrigued me, but I never got far in reading them. I wonder if it would be worth revisiting that sword and planet series.
