Run 2019.05.23
In proving the truism that weather in Nova Scotia varies widely, today was sunny and beautiful, perfect for running. I had no frozen toes this time, just tapping toes waiting for sluggish traffic lights to change.

Run 2019.05.22
I ran today in my running sandals, face-first into a cold wind. I dashed past a bus of tourists visiting Titanic grave sites. By the end I was drenched in sweat, all save my toes. My toes were numb from the cold.

The eighth season of Zombies, Run! continues to be solid. I'm curious to see where the story heads this time, and it promises to be a departure from previous seasons, at least in setting.
Run 2019.05.12
I went for another run over to Dartmouth today. Dashing across the bridge is always the most satisfying portion of the path I take, but I also enjoyed a meandering route for the end of the run.
Zombies, Run! Spring 2019 Virtual Race
I was low on sleep but this afternoon I decided to run the Spring 2019 Virtual Race from Zombies, Run! I wasn't at my peak because I have a 3-day-old baby and all that entails and haven't been running in the week leading up to her birth, but I was happy with my pace considering the situation.

Run 2019.04.16
Halifax is a fairly hilly city, and I've tended to run along the flatter, straighter portions of it when running in the winter. Now I'm back to running up a hill to start my runs when I leave work, and it is slowing me down for now.
Run 2019.04.13
This morning I ran the first training mission for the next Zombies, Run! virtual race, Train to Oban. I have a strong appreciation of trains, so it's fun to have missions involving them.
Run – 2019.04.02
Today I ran down a street light-clogged route as I worked to rebuild my running habits. I usually try to avoid lights as much as I can because they slow down my run significantly, but today wanted to shake things up. What always shocks me is that even with the lights I routinely see drivers running lights with impunity. I'll keep dreaming of a car-free peninsula.
Run – 2019.03.30
This afternoon I enjoyed my first run in a while. The weather here is slowing getting to be more like Spring, so I'm hoping to get back to daily runs.
I'm re-running season 3 of Zombies, Run! ahead of the Spring 2019 Virtual Race at the end of next month and season 8 likely coming not long after that.
Run with the Ancestors
Today I ran the Run with the Ancestors virtual race. It was good to get out for a winter run after avoiding the sidewalks because of ice. I still slipped some, but it was overall a strong run. The virtual race was overall well done, but some of the phrasing in the narration seemed glaringly out of touch and colored by a colonial view.
