I'm organizing my tabletop games and planning to consolidate components. I needed a way to categorize dice.

I use a standard format for plain numbered dice, such as 1d6 or 1d12. A six-sided die that is branded but otherwise functionally a normal die becomes 1b6. A twelve-sided die that has special symbols on each face becomes 1s12.

    I'll need a way to identify dice that need to be specific colours, possibly using a format like 5c6 blue, 3c8 red, and 2c6 yellow. It probably breaks in some situations, but it's robust enough for me to build a games index and narrow down the essential components to play.
