  • I played through Kirby's Dream Land DX on the bus today. It was a joy to play on my R36S.

  • My runs along Spectacle Lake are a bit more colourful these days.

  • Canada geese here have started gathering for their flights south.

  • This year I've been reading through every Anne of Green Gables adaptation I encounter. The latest added to my stack is an early reader adaptation that includes a free audio book that I found for $3.50.

  • Hydrangea flowers can have wonderful variations in colour. One bush had all of these clusters on it yesterday.

  • I'm organizing my tabletop games and planning to consolidate components. I needed a way to categorize dice.

I use a standard format for plain numbered dice, such as 1d6 or 1d12. A six-sided die that is branded but otherwise functionally a normal die becomes 1b6. A twelve-sided die that has special symbols on each face becomes 1s12.

  • I built up a big collection of games over the years, especially when I lived in a rad shared house and hosted games nights with dozens of people.

I don't get to play as often now so the games have been a bit neglected. I compressed the collection by recycling the boxes years ago but I still need to prune to have a more manageable collection.

Yesterday I spread these card games around to a few tiny libraries in my neighborhood. I hope they'll all find appreciative new homes to spark play.

I definitely see the similarities. It'd be nice to know for sure.

  • I love the look of leaves mid-turn. These maple leaves stood out at a playground we visited yesterday.

  • Sunday morning Celestine and I played Uno and Carcassonne. I'm glad she has grown an interest in tabletop games.
