To everyone here who dismissed Google+ as “nobody uses it”, THIS is what it felt like in those early days.

That feeling of “this is an oasis from the other place” or “wow people are nice here” or “I agree with the way i control the privacy of my posts and block those I don’t want to see” is EVERYTHING Google+ was.

We’re all getting a second chance with Mastodon. Let’s get it right this time.

@AaronCrocco we have some significant differences here. There is no Google to shut things down. If we need another five years to get most others over here there isn't going to be a kill switch looming over us. Google+ had a lot going for it but Google's leadership was a liability.
